    Incredible condition for its age: very clean; presumably hardly worn! Clasp works properly, but can become loose & open without much effort, and pin seems a little loose at the hinge when released--handle carefully.     No markings aside from the inscription surrounding the main image--"O Mary conceived without sin pray for us who have recourse to thee", along with "1880".
    Brooch measures approx 38mm across (width of wishbone) by approx 35mm tall (furthest points of plant); stone - approx 17mm round, oval Mary piece - approx 17 x 12mm.
    Weighs approximately 8.3 grams.
    Unique brooch combines a wishbone & three green leafy branches to draw the eye inward to a colored portrayal of the Virgin Mary under domed glass, framed by a bronze-lettered prayer. Makes a great gift or add to your collection!
