    Description

    Fantastic (acid tested to at least 10k/12k) antique brooch is a recreation of the painting by Francois Pascal Simon of Madame Juliette Récamier (1777-1849), a french socialite.  This is a hand painted porcelain brooch, sealed, and is numbered on back 150.   Not just an antique brooch, but one in which you know WHO is on it!  I can't find any signatures on back.  I believe there might also be Sterling silver underneath. I do not want to cut into this to confirm. c.1900-1910. The brooch is either numbered 139 or 150. It looks 150 one way (and to me in person) but in the one picture it looks 139. Tad bit bizarre if you ask me.
