This antique pendant is a real piece of art, very realistic in the presentation of a young Italian noble woman from the Renaissance times. I think that the pendant pin brooch is Italian, dating back to the 1860’s or even earlier. Features are depicted with high precision and vivid colors. The whole portrait shows a young person with scarf around his head, of a classic beauty, looking in the distance with his/ her blue nostalgic eyes.
The painted porcelain plaque was mounted in a bezel set brass frame, ornate with a very fine twisted rope. On the back of the porcelain is an imprint saying 22E. The C clasp works well.
Measurements of the pendant are: 3" long (including bale) x 2.25" wide x 7 mm thick.
Condition of the pendant/ pin/ brooch is very good for its age. There are no scratches visible with a naked eye.
