What is the Kithul Treacle? Kithul treacle also called kithul syrup is also
made of the sap collected from the flower of the fishtail palm or jaggery palm
(Caryota urens). It's a sweet and thick honey-coloured liquid. Just like kithul jaggery, kithul treacle is also made out of the sap of the flower of jaggery palm.
Kitul treacle is made from
sap extracted from the inflorescence of the kitul palm, Caryota urens
, which grows in Sri Lanka. The treacle is made from pure sap boiled down to a sweet, dark brown syrup, thick and sweet in flavor, with a taste resembling dates with a slight hint of caramel.
