EVIAN (GB) Le Derailleur Simplex Limited Bicycle Catalog 1970 French L'Eroica
Used 1970 British bicycle parts catalog with interesting tourist pictures and details. From my Dad's collection from touring England and Europe by bicycle in the 70's and 80s.  This catalog contains details of all French bicycle parts and components.
The first page, in the Introduction, explains the relationship of the two companies:  "Le Derailleur Simplex Ltd. and Evian (GB) Ltd. are two independent Companies who have joined their resources to produce this Comprehensive Price List for the benefit of our many supporters".  (Interestingly, prices aren't in the catalog!)
Besides the value of the technical details of the bicycle parts (from French manufacturers such as Mafac and Stronglight), the travelogue of Walter Stolle, "The Evian-Simplex Man", is fascinating.  A short article from January 17, 1977's People Magazine explains Walter Stolle's epic cycling adventure.  While it appears that no official accolades were awarded to Mr. Stolle, his journey covered over 400,000 miles, took him to 159 countries, and lasted 18 years.  This publication contains many photos from his travels - quite a treasure!
