The Bundeswehr Paratrooper Badge is an achievement badge awarded for a certain number of jumps with a parachute
from Bundeswehr aircraft (e.g. the Transall or the CH-53). Jumps from other aircraft may be recognized.
It is awarded in three grades - bronze (for 5 jumps), silver (20 jumps) and gold (50 jumps).
The badge offered in this auction is rare 1st model with design based on WW2 era badges.
Badges of 2nd model, which is still awarded, are much more common.
Material: silvered metal.
Reverse with horizontal pinback and maker´s mark "A" for company Assmann, Dresden.

The catch is bent so the pin can´t be opened.
