HUGE ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN BROOCH Layered ART NOUVEAU REPOUSSE FLORAL Motif 3 1/2"

*****DESCRIPTION: Wonderful OLD Brooch, with an intricate ART NOVEAU FLORAL MOTIF on top layer, repousse stylized flowers, very ornate. This appears to be a dark silvertone plating on Brass metal. Mounded over a base of silvertone metal, so it is open between layers, sort of sandwich-style. Rotating C-clasp. Unsigned.
SIZE: About 3 1/2" across.
CONDITION: Though it is difficult to tell from pictures, there is wear on the high spots THROUGH TO THE BRASS. Something rather curious, too. In the deeply recessed areas, there is a shininess, almost black. Not sure if this is the original finish or not, but the top floral layer has quite a bit of wear down to the brass, and a couple dull areas, so I think it is original. This lovely, vintage brooch will certainly be an excellent addition to your vintage jewelry collection.
