Red Flower Brooch, Enamel on Brass - ca. 1910s, Vintage Brooches

Description

This sweet little brooch has a delicate flowing floral design in vibrant red and green enamel. The metal appears to be brass. The design has cutouts so the color of your jacket will show from behind.
The brooch is petite, measuring about 1 1/8" long x 1" wide. Condition is very good for its age. Along the bottom front, you can see some odd green traces. I can't tell if this is the remains of some lost enamel in that section, or if there was never enamel in that area and the green actually is from verdigris. In any case, the effect is not particularly noticeable and it does not detract from the overall look of the piece. There is a slight bend in the pin, but it functions just fine, as does the c-clasp hardware.
