Victorian Brooch Pierced Stamped Brass Sash Pin Purple Glass Rhinestone
In the late Victorian and early Edwardian eras, large sash pins/brooches, often resembling buckles, were a popular item of wear. Fashionable women would copy Queen Victoria's style by wearing a sash from over their shoulder to their hip. Sash pins were used to fasten the sash at the hip. Common characteristics include thick pin stems in order to pass through several layers of fabric, and simple "C" clasps.
This brooch has a geometric stamped brass floral frame. There is a mesh insert at the center. A large, bezel set, purple glass rhinestone sits at the very center.
Measures 2-1/2" wide by 1-3/4" high.
The condition is very good with very little wear.
